Today, while driving to Birds and Beers, a monthly event created by the triangle birders to hang out and swap stories over drinks and good food, I made a pit stop at Mason Farm to get American Woodcock for #175. Birds and Beers was loads of fun, and I got to talk with a number of friends who I hadn't seen in quite some time. Overall, while birding is a way to get outside and experience nature, it is also a thriving social experience through which I have met some of my best friends and fascinating people.

Now, that is not NC... :D What is that bird? I originally thought (European) Blackbird, but not with orange legs... Some kind of Old World Starling or Myna?
ReplyDeleteHaha I have no idea! Probably blackbirdish, but heck, they could be just a made-up species entirely
ReplyDeleteI think they are Yellow-billed Choughs, a corvid. A good picture regardless; I now have a strange desire to go to Switzerland...
