Day 4
Today, I did the Southport CBC along with Matt Daw and Mike McCloy, where we covered the Fort Fisher area. Overall, it was a good day without many rarities, but I managed to pick up a handful of new birds, including Common Goldeneye. This is one of the best spots to find it in the state, and I was treated to views of 3 drakes. Unfortunately, this was the last day of the 9 day long birding trip with Matt and Mike, and for the next few days I'll be back in Raleigh until school starts up again. Until then, I may try to track down that pesky Fox Sparrow while waiting for something rare to show up.

Four days down, 46% of the way there! Obviously the percentage doesn't tell the full story, but nevertheless a cool figure.
